Tuition Tutors wanted for free site

Many people here will be familiar with paid tutoring websites. They host your profile for free, but when a student wishes to obtain your contact details, they must pay the site a fee of around £20. Sometimes the tutor also has to pay money to the site.

As an alternative to those sites, I have created one with similar functionality that is completely free for both the student and tutor. As a tutor, you create a profile page describing your tutoring background, and students may find that by searching for their subject and postcode.

It has recently launched and I am now keen to attract tutors to create profiles on the site, so please take a look. Thanks.

I'll have a look, but I'd like to ask a few questions;

1) Do you have a large customer base of students or recently established (don't really mind, this is just curiosity)?
2) Is there an editor for your profile page?
3) How do the students contact you?

Other than that, I'll have a look now and possibly create my profile. Thank you.

Emily

Signed up and ready to begin tutoring

I think it's a really great idea; I've always been against the idea of a website taking money to find you a tutor. It should be an enabler, not a paid service, the tutor should be paid and not the site, or a nominal fee if any.

Anyhow, I've signed up to your site and I hope it begins becoming successful.

Emily.

Thanks for registering Emily, I'll answer your questions anyway for the benefit of others:
  1. The site is recently established, but the number of visitors continues to grow as the site's position in Google searches like 'tutor search', 'free tutor search' etc improves.
  2. When you register as a tutor you need to input all of that information. You can subsequently edit it by logging in.
  3. Students send an initial message using the site which gets directed to the tutor's email address (this is to prevent the tutor's email address from being exposed to spammers). After this the tutor and student may exchange emails privately away from the site.
